St. Dorbhene, abbot of Iona

Today (28 October) we commemorate St. Dorbhene, abbot of Iona (713). I’m getting confused just looking at all the possible spellings and appellations, and the possibly dual abbacy of Iona at the time. Suffice to say that Dorbene (the Tall) was abbot of Iona, albeit rather briefly, and is probably the Dorbene who made a surviving copy of Adamnan’s Life of St Columba. More detail from Brigit at Under the Oak
Holy St Dorbhene, pray to God for us.
