troparia for 1 July

Several translations (mine) of troparia from M Lopez-Ginisty – I believe the French versions are his compositions as he usually provides the sources to the originals in other languages if he is translating.

Tu as fondé un saint Monastère à Culross.*

Troparion to St Servanus (Servan, Serf), bishop and abbot of Culross (7th c)
Evangelist to eastern Scotland,
You founded a holy monastery at Culross.
Bishop and abbot, you led your monks
As true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ,
in prayer, ascesis and poverty.
Holy Servanus, pray to God that He have mercy on us!

Troparion to St Calais (Calevisus), monk of Micy, abbot. (6th c)
Son of an illustrious family of Auvergne,
Student at Menat, you became a monk at Micy
and you became a hermit in Sologne and in Le Perche,
with your companion in prayer, St Avit.
Later, you founded a monastery near Le Mans.
Holy Calevisus, pray to God to have mercy on our souls!

Ensuite tu fus higoumène du Mont-D’Or.*

Troparion to St Thierry, abbot near Reims, +533.
Son of a lord who was also a brigand,
You felt the call of God at your marriage.
St Remi of Reims, on being consulted, freed you from your marriage vows
And you remained with him as a monk.
Later you became abbot of Mont-D’Or.
Holy Thierry, pray to the Lord to save our souls!

Troparion to St Eparchius, hermit near Angouleme, +581.
The thirty-nine years which you gave to Christ
You lived as a recluse, giving yourself up to asceticism,
Fasting and continual prater.
You gave your alms to the needy
And shone with the faith of the Gospel.
St Eparchius, pray to the Lord to save our souls!
